Troop 28 Providence are two troops operating together based out of the Central Congressional Church in Providence, RI. We strive for inclusion and acceptance. We welcome all who welcome all.

Troop 28 does many different types of skills from merit badges to excursions such as spring skills. Some merit badges we do are things like First Aid, Search and Rescue, Camping, and so so much more. You can find all of the Scouting merit badges at the Scouting America website.
We go on all sorts of adventures from campouts to hikes to high adventure bases. Some annual traditional ones we go to is Spring Skills, a campout in the Mount Tom area where we learn skills from Tomahawk throwing(basically a type of ax) to artery to BB guns and knot tying. In December we do a campout called Big Fish where we go to Hidden Lake at Camp Yawgoog in Rockville which is a campout full of great traditions. We do so many different campouts and adventures and a great way to find out more is to stop by one of our meetings. More info about meetings can be found in the When and Where section.
We find many ways to give back to the community in all sorts of ways, some of which are helping out the unhoused people who are being introduced back into a home and a job at the Crossroads RI shelter, “Scouting for food” which is a food drive to help food pantry for those in need, church clean outs, and Eagle Projects, which can be a variety of things. Some recent Eagle projects are making a new fence for a nature center and cutting down and removing a massive amount of invasive species and other plants from the riverbank at Old Slater Mill National Historic Landmark, paving the way for native species seeds to be planted. Overall, we recognize the importance of giving back to our community and are always looking for ways to do so.
